Education & Early Career

Mark graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Far Eastern University in the Philippines. He began his nursing career in 2007, working across clinic, emergency, and community health settings—building a foundation of clinical expertise and deep understanding of patient care.

The Travel Nursing Journey

In 2010, Mark made the pivotal decision to move to Canada, beginning his travel nursing journey in 2011 with his first contract in rural Manitoba. Over the next decade, he worked as a locum and travel nurse across Canada's most remote and diverse regions—British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. His career also took him internationally to the Cayman Islands and the United States.

Recognizing a Need

Through years of navigating contracts, licensing, and remote nursing assignments, Mark identified a critical gap: travel nurses across Canada lacked meaningful professional connections. The industry was fragmented, isolated, and disconnected. This realization became the catalyst for a community.

Building the Community

In 2015, Mark created the Canadian Travel Nurses Facebook community—a simple idea that would become the largest online network for Canadian travel nurses with over 20,000 members. The platform transformed from a network into a movement, connecting nurses with opportunity, knowledge, and belonging.

Today's Vision

Today, Mark focuses on building the complete ecosystem supporting travel nurses through community engagement, professional education, career opportunities, and innovative housing solutions. He is the creator of the Canadian Travel Nurse Expo, a flagship event connecting nurses, recruiters, agencies, and healthcare organizations across the nation.

Real Estate & Housing Solutions

Beyond community leadership, Mark is a real estate investor specializing in furnished housing for traveling medical professionals. He understands firsthand the accommodation challenges healthcare workers face on assignment and is committed to solving them through thoughtful property investment and advocacy.
